Tavistock Hills Swim Team Breaks Records in Weekend Meet
Tavistock Hills Swim Team makes a record for Tavistock records broken at tri county!!!
It was a meet like none other for Tavistock Hills Swim Team at the Tri County Championships. The team broke a total of eight Tavistock records - an unbelievable record, in one weekend meet! Among the five individual records broken was one of the longest standing records on the record board in Boys 15-18 fly made by Chris Cartensen in 1969 of 27.00. It was broken by David Rowe, 15, with a new record time of 26.58!
Newcomer to the team, Anna Long, came in first in Girls 8 and under backstroke at Tri-county and broke her own record with a new time of 19.76.
Jessie Cashman broke a 15-18 back stroke record from Shannon Carrigan in 2000 with a new time of 32.32, along with breaking her own 15-18 fly record of 30.42.
The girls 8 and under medley relay posted a new record time of 1:32.69 with the team of Anna Long, Maggie Campbell, Mary Kate Owens, and Abby Reenock.
The girls 15-18 medley relay broke a 2000 record with a new time of 2:11.89 with the team of Annie Nicoletti, Sophia Esgro, Jessie Cashman, and Victoria Coty.
Our boys 15-18 medley record was broke from 2010 with a new time of 1:54.33 with the team of David Rowe, Brad Donohue, David Huehnergarth and Aidan Pazan.
Of interesting note, this is Aidan Pazan's first season of swimming ever and plans to swim for Haddonfield Memorial High School this winter, joining the team for the first time as a senior! We are all very proud of our record breakers and can't wait for the next summer season! Go Waves!!!!
