Storm Washes Out 3rd Annual Chicken Runs at Midnight

Violent thunderstorms washed out the main race at midnight Friday.

The Canuso Foundation and Babe’s Kids third annual Chicken Runs at Midnight was shortened by a violent thunderstorm Friday.

There was still a carnival-like atmosphere before the storm, with activities, food and entertainment.

Last year, more than 2,000 people participated. Proceeds will support Babe’s Kids, Jason Garstkiewicz and Colin Hough. Jason Garstkiewicz, a seventh-grader at the Haddonfield Middle School, was recently diagnosed with a rare form of bone cancer in his tibia. Colin Hough is a freshman at Haddonfield Memorial High School and recently diagnosed with a rare form of cancer called rhabdomyosarcoma, a cancer of the connective tissue.
