Colonial Football Wrap: Haddonfield Bounces Back, Paulsboro Loses Late

The Bulldawgs manhandle Lindenwold after a season-opening loss.

Haddonfield bounced back from a season-opening loss to Paulsboro in convincing fashion, smothering Lindenwold in a 36-0 win Friday night.

The Bulldawgs scored a first-half safety and chewed up the clock with a running game that accounted for four of their touchdowns, including a pair of TDs from Adam Augugliaro, who score from the one-yard line and on a 55-yarder.

Overbrook 42, Gateway 6

The Rams racked up seven touchdowns against Gateway Friday night—and only two of them came on offense.

Overbrook got a punt return for a TD, an interception return for a touchdown and two fumble recoveries for touchdowns in its rout of the Gators. Allen Gaskins was the standout on defense, recording a sack, forcing a fumble and returning a fumble for a touchdown, all to go with seven tackles. On offense, Jordan Lowber (three carries, 56 yards, one touchdown) was Overbook's top man.

Sterling 13, Paulsboro 10

Paulsboro saw its hopes for a 2-0 start get dashed in the fourth quarter in a 13-10 loss at Sterling.

After taking a 10-7 lead at halftime on a 70-yard touchdown pass from Zack Funk to Derrick Burgess and a 38-yard Mike Maccarone field goal, Paulsboro had a chance to shut things down with a late goal-line stand.

But Sterling's Khalil Howard had other plans, punching it in from a yard out to give his team the victory.
