Grab & Go Kids Planner: MLK Day Activities

Looking for the hottest spots to take the kids on their day off? Look no further—we've compiled them all for you.

 

The kids are off from school today, which means you might need to get them up and out of the house. Here are some of Patch's Picks of local spots to keep them occupied: 

Event: Martin Luther King Day Celebration  

Where: Haddonfield Municipal Hall, 242 Kings Hwy E, Haddonfield

When: Monday, Jan. 16, 6:30 p.m.

Why Go: Join the mayor and borough officials along with other community members in celebrating Dr. Martin Luther King's life and services. A candlelight procession will proceed to the Middle School on Lincoln Avenue for a commemorative program.

Cost: Admission is free

 

Event: Pottery Painting

Where: All Fired Up, 602 Haddon Ave., Collingswood 

When: Monday, January 16 from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m.

Why Go: Express yourself and enjoy a Monday afternoon at All Fired Up. They WILL be open this Monday because of the holiday. Grab a friend, pick a piece, and create magic. 

Cost: Cost varies depending on piece chosen. Sign up for email updates on their website and receive a coupon for a free sitting!

 

Event: Free Play

Where: Jellybean Jungle, 230 North Maple Avenue, Marlton

When: Monday, Jan. 16 open from 9:30 a.m. through 4:30 p.m.

Why Go: South Jersey's exclusive play place for children ages five and under. Kids will be entertained for hours while moms chat, relax, and watch the kids play. 

Cost: $9.00 plus tax per child ages 1 - 5 years; $4.25 plus tax per child ages under 1 year; Infants and non-crawlers are FREE with paying sibling.
Each paying child may have two adults attend with them FREE of charge. There will be a $3 per person fee for each additional adult. 

 

Event: MLK Open Bounce

Where: Bounce U, 1205 Warren Ave., Cherry Hill 

 When: Monday, Jan. 16 at 10 a.m. until noon and noon until 2 p.m.

Why Go: Let your kids bounce the day away and utilize Bounce U's incredible inflatables, exciting games, and fun. Most open bounces are separated by age group so the big guys don't trample the little ones. This makes everyone's bouncing experience more pleasant. 

Cost: $12.95 per child and includes two free slices of pizza and unlimited drinks. 

 

Event: Martin Luther King Skate and Play

Where: International Sports Center, 600 Kresson Rd. Cherry Hill 

When: Monday, Jan. 16 from noon until 4 p.m.

Why Go: Children of all ages will be entertained for hours at the ISC with a list of fun things to do. Call a friend and make it a play date. The best part about public play dates is no clean-up. 

Cost: $8 admission which includes skating, funzone admission, inflatable slide, slice of pizza, and small soda. $3.50 for skate rental.
