Great Horned Owl Spotted in Crows Woods

A local man snaps a picture of the owl in the Haddonfield woods.

A great horned owl was recently spotted in Crows Woods in Haddonfield.

Local resident Dan Flury snapped a shot of it and shared it with Haddon Patch readers.

The woods are teeming with wildlife these days, including a busy pair of beavers.

This is beautiful! Thanks so much, Dan, for sharing this photo. Wonder how this owl feels about part of his hunting grounds being covered with artificial turf?

Sorry Sue but you are misinformed. The turf is going in over on already open space at the high school and not at Crows Woods. His hunting grounds will be just fine.

Well, I think he must fly all around Haddonfield--that is what I meant.

Well, he already looks disgruntled. Perhaps he ranges as far as Haddon Twp and he got a piece of their turf stuck in his beak.

I'll definitely keep an eye out for this guy. So far this whole area has been a haven for bird watching from hawks (virtually everywhere) to eagles (Newton Lake).
