Haddon Twp. Fire District Elections Saturday: What You Need to Know
Haddon Township has four fire districts.
Fire district elections will be held across New Jersey Saturday, including in Haddon Township.
Polls will be open in three of four Haddon Township fire districts from 2 to 9 p.m. The exception will be Fire District 3, where the poll will be open from 10 a.m to 4 p.m., at Jennings Elementary School, 100 East Cedar Ave.
One incumbent commissioner will be up for a three-year term in Fire District 3 and voters will be asked to support a tax levy of $35,071.
In Fire District 1, incumbent Franklin P. Jackson IV is running unopposed for a three-year term. Voters will be asked to support a tax levy of $1,221,569. It's an increase of $131,884 over last year.
Jackson said the district plans to purchase a new fire truck and establish an emergency-repair fund. The poll is located at the Westmont Fire Station, 120 Haddon Ave.
In Fire District 2, in the West Collingswood Extension, incumbent Timothy St. John is running unopposed for a three-year term. Voters will be asked to approve a $28,320 tax levy, roughly the same as last year. The poll is at the civic center building, Eldridge and Lynn avenues.
In Fire District 4, one incumbent commissioner is running unopposed for a three-year term. Voters will be asked to support tax levies of $150,167.40 and $149,540.40. The poll is located at the West Collingswood Heights Fire Company, 152 Nicholson Road.
