Rare Coins Stolen in Burglary

A Collings Ave. resident in Haddon Township discovers a break-in that targeted collector coins.

A home in the 1100 block of Collings Ave. in Haddon Township reported a burglary at 6:02 p.m. on Nov. 28.

Police arrived to find a rear-door window that had been smashed, apparently with a hammer, which was recovered at the scene. The victim discovered the break-in when returning home.

Several rare coins were reported missing. They include a Booker T. Washington half-dollar, 10 Morgan silver dollars and an unknown amount of Ben Franklin half-dollars. A heavy gold chain, a cell phone and $20 in cash were also reported missing.
