Haddonfield 'Hero' Cop Promoted with 2 Other Officers

"We're striving for excellence...This is something special."

Stu Holloway, a Haddonfield patrolman honored for reviving an infant earlier this year and for helping to save a quartet of ducklings two months ago, was promoted to corporal on Tuesday in a ceremony at the Municipal Hall.

Two other officers, Edward Wiley and Stephen Camiscioli, were also promoted, Wiley from sergeant to lieutenant and Camiscioli from corporal to sergeant.

"One of the most difficult thing I do as public safety director is deciding promotions like this," Commissioner Ed Borden said. "Our department is chocked full of experienced, capable, bright officers."

None of the officers spoke publicly at the ceremony. Instead they posed for pictures with their families.

Holloway is an assistant football coach at Haddonfield Memorial High School when he's not on the job. He said his commitment to Haddonfield is just part of the job.

"We're striving for excellence," Holloway said last month. "This is something special."

A well deserved promotion. When you hear about one of our policemen saving the life of a child it makes you proud to be a citizen of Haddonfield. Who knows what that child can now achieve in life, courtesy of Officer Holloway. Any resources given to our police department is money well spent.
