Haddonfield Police: Man Awakes to Burglar in Room
No injuries were reported in a brazen burglary.
Imagine awaking from a mid-afternoon nap to find a burglar in your bedroom.
A resident in the 600 block of Farragut Ave. didn't have to imagine. He experienced it firsthand.
Police said he awakened from a nap shortly after 6 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 16, and saw a man in his bedroom, who then fled with his wife's jewelry box, filled with rings, necklaces and earrings.
The suspect escaped. He is described as a thin-built, white male in his 20s, about 5-foot-8. It was not immediately reported how he gained entry to the house.

this is getting bad, live near the high school, and someone egged my car and did unspeakable things to my car lights, not to mention vandalism and car damage I hear about

Josh, the Camden County Freeholders want to spend $65 million per year on a brand new County-wide police force. They realize that they'll not be able to sell that huge new tax increase to County taxpayers, including Haddonfield/Haddon Twp. taxpayers, unless the crime rate goes up appreciably in Camden County. I've read that burglaries were up in Haddonfield by as much as 250% last year. Much of that is due to the economy, but I also suspect strongly that there's been a relaxation in apprehensions and convictions in other portions of Camden County including Camden City, as a way of justifying a new police force that will cost billions over the coming decades. Where there's money, there's fire.
