The Best Way to Spread Christmas Cheer Is Singing Loud for All to Hear!

Carolers from Haddonfield United Methodist Church shared songs of the season throughout town.

Buddy the Elf would be proud. More than 50 singers of all ages caroled through downtown Haddonfield Wednesday evening spreading Christmas cheer for all to hear.

Associate Pastor Jessica Brendler Naulty from the Haddonfield United Methodist Church led carolers in "O Christmas Tree" while standing among the evergreens for sale at the Y's Men's Christmas tree stand.

From there the carolers spread Christmas cheer at the PATCO high-speedline, the Hadrosaurus foulkii sculpture and the gazebo in Kings Court. Patrons at The Bistro, The Little Tuna, Ralic's Steakhouse and The British Chip Shop enjoyed free entertainment while dining. Retail shops and stores, including A Taste of Olive, Starbucks and the Acme, were greeted by holiday carols and greetings from members of the church congregation. Children also distributed postcards inviting those expressing an interest to join them for Christmas Eve worship at the church.

The music program at Haddonfield United Methodist Church is known throughout South Jersey for its exceptional talent. Wayne Richmond, the church's music director, performed at the Concert for Hurricane Relief last month in Haddonfield. Other performers at that concert included mezzo-soprano opera singer Stephanie Melzi, who honed her skills at the Methodist church, as well as Denise Coffey Stuart and Cody Austin, who perform regularly during services at the church, located at 29 Warwick Rd. in Haddonfield.

The carolers were wonderful. I hope they make an encore performance before Christmas!
