Jamaican Will No Longer Be Making You Crazy

Haddonfield's Kings Highway apparel and gift shop will now be known as Forever Young Emporium.

Gary Reses said he was tired of his apparel and gift shop being confused with other stores sharing the same name, especially at the Jersey Shore.

So tired, in fact, that he recently changed the name from Jamaican Me Crazy to Forever Young Emporium.

"Same great store, same great merchandise," Reses said one day this week while standing behind the counter of his store. "There are stores at the shore we're not affiliated with and didn't want to be confused for."

Reses had operated Jamaican Me Crazy for nearly 11 years at 139 Kings Highway East. He clearly hopes the name change will keep him in business for another 11 years or more.

Reses' Jamaican Me Crazy gained distinction last year after a store surveillance video of a thief stealing a donation jar was posted on Youtube.

i never understood how this store fit with haddonfield, not that the new hippie signage fits any better. New hope I can see, but haddonfield?? luckily the name is changing. I cringed everytime I saw it. I also wonder how exactly they have stayed in business, what else are they selling? *raised eyebrows*

CV, Not everyone in Haddonfield is an up tight old fart, and there are many tourists as well who enjoy variety and can't afford a Rolex. It is wonderful that a small retailer can stay in business this long, he must be selling things that the public wants. May we all stay "Forever Young!" Respectfully Submitted

Yes, C.V. and the owner probably cringed every time you walked by his store. This store is awesome. I have bought some of the most unusual gifts for friends and family. There is something for everyone and you are certain to find a good laugh also. I brought my Grandaughter there and she thought it was the coolest store she had ever been in. Forever Young is a great name because that is how this store makes you feel. CV, get a life and start supporting the business owners in the town you live in. And by the way, can you tell us, What makes YOU fit with Haddonfield? Your affluence, your good looks, your family heritage? Your outrageous, nasty and stupid comment sets you apart from anyone I know in Haddonfield. Except for the person that feels the Cemetery fence makes their visit there more "appealing". The 2 of you are a disgrace to Haddonfield. C.V. go to Forever Young and buy yourself a whoopee cushion and lighten up.

It's fun to walk around the store and just check out the unusual merchandise. It really wasn't all that long ago we had places like Woolworth 5&10 and Nuemeyers, stores the average Haddonfield resident would shop at. In a few decades the change has been drastic.
The town could use more stores that aren't just catered to Thurston Howell III.

Totally! I love this place because it has fun merchandise that I can actually afford to buy and feel good about.

A few months back, I found a button for the band PiL at this store. Haven't seen an item like that in any other shop in South Jersey. The button is now proudly displayed on my guitar strap.

Don't ever close! It's a special place our kids will always remember going to!
Thanks for providing a place for them and adults as well!
