Obituary: Lydia J. Humphreys, a Former Gloucester Twp. Teacher

Services will be held on Thursday.

 

Lydia J. Humphreys (nee Channell), 99, of Haddonfield and Marlton, died on Friday.

She was the devoted wife of the late Silas Boice and the late Ellis Humphreys;  loving mother of Howard Boice (Frances) of Southampton, Linda Fortney (Stephen) of Sequim, WA and Robert Humphreys (Barbara) of San Diego, CA.  She was a beloved grandmother of 12 and great-grandmother of 17.   

Lydia graduated from Pleasantville High School and Glassboro Normal School.  She was a devoted teacher in the Gloucester Township School system. She was also a proud resident of Haddonfield for 46 years and a resident of Wiley Home and Village community for 27 years. 

Friends and family are invited to her graveside service on Thursday at Locustwood Memorial Park, Cherry Hill at 10:30 a.m. A memorial service will be held at 11:30 a.m. at Wiley Home and Village in Marlton in the main church.  Memorial donations may be made to Wiley Home Auxiliary, 99 E. Main St., Marlton, NJ 08053, in Lydia’s name.
