If you were sitting bumper-to-bumper on the Helix heading into the Lincoln Tunnel in May and thought you heard the strains of "Gimme Shelter" in the distance—it may not have been the guy in the car two lanes over listening to Q104's classic rock.

Rolling Stones guitarist Keith Richards told Rolling Stone magazine that the group spent a week in early May in New York City and at a studio in Weehawken, playing some of their greatest hits while the session was recorded by a video crew for a documentary honoring the group's 50th anniversary.

There were rumors at the time that the Stones were up to something, given that Jagger was hosting Saturday Night Live, but he ended up performing with the Foo Fighters, Jeff Beck and Arcade Fire (see video).

Some fan sites claimed the group was at Tangerine Mastering in Weehawken, but Richards did not mention where the performances took place.

Richards also told Rolling Stone there's a chance the group will play at least one live concert this year, to mark their 50th anniversary.

I think the entirety of Exile on Main fits, but who wouldn't want to lay claim to that?

"Miss You" without a doubt, but substitute "Central" with several of our own notorious drug park locales. Heard them sing it live in concert at Boardwalk Hall in '89.
