Update: Missing Boys Found Dead in Raritan River
The bodies of Francisco Pereira-Rodas and Devine Nicholas were pulled from the Raritan River Monday. A statewide missing child alert had been sent out during the search for the pair.
Update: Two bodies found floating in the Raritan River today have been positively identified as missing New Brunswick 10-year-old Francisco Pereira-Rodas and his 11-year-old friend, Devine Nicholas.
New Jersey State Police sent out the following alert about two missing boys:
Francisco Pereira-Rodas, 10, Hispanic male, 4-foot-0, 135 lbs. with black hair and brown eyes, was last seen by his mother at their residence on the 200 block of Somerset Street in New Brunswick approximately 6 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 5.
He was wearing a white T-shirt, blue/white striped shorts and sandals without socks. He has scars on both his knees. Prior to leaving his residence, he told his mother that he was going to the park on Harvey Street a few blocks away.
The second missing juvenile is a friend of Francisco Pereira-Rodas. His name is Devine Nicholas. He is an 11-year-old black male, 4-foot-2, 85 lbs. with black hair and brown eyes, and was reported missing by his mother on the evening of Sunday, Aug. 5. Devine was wearing black "Croc" shoes and usually has a Spiderman push scooter in his possession. Devine has a medical condition that requires medication. Devine lives on the unit block of Mine Street.
Since both juveniles are friends, they may be together.
