Steve Weinstein's Rowan Salary Revealed
The Haddonfield school board president was appointed to a major position at Rowan University.
Steve Weinstein, a Haddonfield attorney who also serves as the president of the borough school board, will make $300,000 per year in his new position as vice president for governmental relations and general counsel for Rowan University.
Weinstein will be one of the university's highest-paid employees. Rowan President Ali Houshmand makes $375,000 per year.
During an interview with Patch last week, Weinstein declined to discuss his Rowan salary, but university spokesman Joe Cardona provided the information Monday at Patch's request.
Weinstein, 66, will leave his position as partner with the law firm Florio Perrucci Steinhardt and Fader to take the job, which he started last week.
"I believe Rowan will be the primary economic driver in South Jersey for jobs and research," Weinstein, a former member of the Rowan Board of Trustees, said last week. "It's going to be a very exciting place."
Rowan also announced Friday that Melissa Wheatcroft, a Haddonfield resident and former corporate counsel and vice president of quality management for Bancroft, was named the school's associate general counsel.
Wheatcroft most recently served as of counsel for Comegno Law Group, concentrating her practice on education law, as well as labor and employment law.
At Rowan, Wheatcroft will be paid $120,000 per year.
In addition, Rowan announced Friday that Dr. Kenneth Blank was named vice president for health sciences. His immediate role will be to oversee the integration of the School of Osteopathic Medicine at University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey in Stratford into Rowan's new medical school.
Blank will be paid $320,000 per year.
Rowan University, in Glassboro, has about 12,000 full- and part-time students.
