Camden Academy Remembers Lewis Katz, Marcy Dalsey at Annual College Night

With college on the horizon, juniors gear up for Camden Academy Charter High School’s Annual College Night on Tuesday, June 3 in the Promise Academy Center (PAC) located on 820 Lois Ave. in Camden. Highlighting the evening will be an alumni panel consisting of 12 recent Camden Academy Charter High School (CACHS) graduates, who are returning to their alma mater with the purpose of sharing their college experiences.  During the night, the alumni panel will rotate in answering questions posed both by the students and their parents.

Words will be shared and a special moment of silence will be held at the beginning for recently deceased Lewis Katz and Marcy Dalsey, who both passed away in a tragic plane crash in Bedford, Massachusetts on Saturday, May 31. Katz was the co-founder of KATZ Academy Charter School, along with Dalsey who also served as president of the KATZ Academy Board of Trustees. Both had supported Camden’s Charter School Network throughout the years.

Paymon Rouhanifard, the superintendent of the Camden City School District, will also be in attendance as a guest of honor for the evening to continue his listening tour of Camden.

Doors open to juniors and their families at 6 p.m. with admission free to all those in attendance. The night will also feature a catered dinner for all juniors and families, as well as for the alumni panel.
