CAMDENS ACADEMY CHARTER HIGH SCHOOL WELCOMES 15 NATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY INDUCTEES

(Camden, NJ) – Recognized for their academic achievements and personal merit, 15 new inductees will be welcomed into the National Honor Society by Camden Academy Charter High School (CACHS) on Thursday, April 24.  The Camden Academy Charter High School National Honor Society Banquet will take place from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Promise Academy Center, located at 820 Lois Ave. in Camden.

During this time outgoing senior members will pass the torch onto the new inductees by participating in the pinning and certificate ceremonies, as well installing the new National Honor Society officers. 

Dr. Charles N. McEwen will present as the keynote speaker for the banquet. McEwen has more than 100 peer-reviewed publications and has co-authored/ co-edited five books. He currently holds a doctorate degree from the University of Virginia, and was employed for 35 years as a research fellow and manager at DuPont Central Research and Development Department before accepting the position of R. Everett Houghton Chair in Chemistry and Biochemistry at the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia. In addition, McEwen has also received numerous honors, such American Chemical Society Delaware Section Award and "Spectroscopist of the Year" award from the Delaware Valley Society for Applied Spectroscopy.

All new inductees are recognized for their outstanding performance in the areas of leadership, character, scholarship and service during their tenure at CACHS. National Honor Society members at CACHS place a heavy focus on community service by offering tutoring to younger grade-levels and volunteering at local food banks.
