Samaritan Thrift Celebrates One Year Anniversary

Westmont, NJ – Samaritan Healthcare & Hospice celebrates the one year anniversary of its first retail endeavor, Samaritan Thrift in Westmont, NJ.  Located at 33 Haddon Avenue, Samaritan Thrift is another way that our community can get to know more about Samaritan and support our mission – while finding great bargains.

 

The store is run primarily by 31 volunteers under the direction of Retail Manager Amy Buchanan and is open Tuesday – Saturday from 10 am to 6 pm. Samaritan Thrift offers a wide variety of clothing, purses, jewelry and housewares. Donations are accepted during store hours.

 Samaritan Healthcare & Hospice is the regional leader for hospice care, palliative (comfort) medicine, geriatric care management, grief support and counseling and end-of-life education, research and advocacy. In addition to hospice services covered by Medicare, Medicaid and private insurers, Samaritan’s Family of Services also provides more than $1.2 million each year in essential, yet non-reimbursed, services through generous community support.

Samaritan is a not-for-profit, non-sectarian, independent organization accredited by The Joint Commission, a member of the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization (NHPCO) and its’ We Honor Veterans program created in collaboration with the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). Samaritan serves people in Atlantic, Burlington, Camden, Gloucester and Mercer counties who are coping with the stresses of aging, serious illness or grief.
