YMCA Of Burlington and Camden Counties Invites Local Teens to a State-Wide Day of Service on Oct. 12

Mt. Laurel, NJ – According to the New Jersey Anti-Hunger Coalition, the state’s food insecurity level was 12.7% overall and a startling 19% for children in 2011. The YMCA New Jersey Youth and Government program and YMCA of Burlington and Camden Counties, a cause-driven nonprofit charitable organization, are working to change these statistics with a state-wide Day of Service where students, grades 7-12, have the opportunity to volunteer at their local food pantry or soup kitchens on Saturday, October 12.

Day of Service locations in South Jersey include: the RCCG Tabernacle of Peace Food Pantry and Sisterhood Incorporated in Burlington. Students are asked to bring a donation of non-perishable food items to the organization.
