A Solemn Occasion Marks Events To Do This Week

Farmers markets in Westmont and Haddonfield are also on tap.

A solemn occasion tops things to do this week in the Haddons. A piece of steel from the World Trade Center destroyed in a terrorist attack on Sept. 11, 2001 has been secured by Haddon Fire Co. No. 1 and a ceremony marking the occasion is set for 3 p.m. Wednesday at the fire house at 15 N. Haddon Ave.

The public is invited to the ceremony.

Other events include a meeting of the Haddon Kiwanis Club meeting at the Taproom in Haddon Township Grille, 427 W. Crystal Lake Boulevard, 6:30 p.m. Tuesday. Locally, the Kiwanis Club of the Haddons sponsors Key Clubs for high school youth at three high schools, and an Aktion Club for adults with disabilities.  These clubs help youth and challenged adults develop initiative and leadership skills.
