Celebrate Fourth of July in South Jersey

If your Independence Day plans are not yet set in stone, Patch has complied a list of all of the local events taking place around South Jersey this Fourth of July.

There are celebrations taking place from Philadelphia to the shore and lots to do in between. All events are on July 4 unless otherwise noted.

Atlantic City

• “Let it Rock” Fireworks display at 9:30 p.m. at the Borgata. Free view from north expansion parking lot.

Audubon

• Parade at 8:30 a.m. starting on Amherst to Pine and ends at the high school. Fireworks take place at the high school at dusk.

Barrington

• July 3 Parade at 6:30 p.m. Fireworks at dusk behind Woodland Middle School.

Camden Waterfront

• The one-week Freedom Festival runs July 1-7. Events include special tours of Battleship New Jersey, a barbecue, live music in Wiggins Park and more. Adventure Aquarium Waterfront Fireworks Spectacular on July 6 at 8 p.m.

Cape May

• Third of July fireworks will be in the Delaware Bay near North Cape May. Fourth of July fireworks will be on the Cape May Beach Front, in front of Congress Hall.

Cherry Hill

• July 3 fireworks at Cherry Hill West High School Football stadium at 9 p.m.

Clementon Park

• Fireworks show on July 3 at dusk. Admission is $15 after 5 p.m.  Amusement and water park will both be open until 10 p.m.

Collingswood

• To the Max to perform during fireworks display at Collingswood High School stadium. Gates open at 6:30 p.m. and fireworks start at approximately 9:15 p.m.

Gloucester City

• Fireworks display at the Gloucester City High School on July 3. Show begins approximately 9:15 p.m.

Haddon Township

• Fireworks display at Haddon Township High School at dusk July 3. High Fidelity will perform live. Gates open at 7 p.m. Fourth of July parade at 11:30 a.m. beginning at the corner of Haddon and Reeve avenues. Parade ends at Crystal Lake pool, which has free admission all day.

Haddonfield

• July 3 fireworks display at Haddonfield Memorial High School at 7 p.m. July 4 at 9:30 a.m. is a reading of the Declaration of Independence at the Indian King Tavern. Parade begins at 10 a.m.

Hershey Park

• An all-day cook out in Hershey Gardens followed by a fireworks display at 10 p.m.

Maple Shade

• Independence Day parade on Main Street between Fellowship Road and Coles Avenue at 1 p.m., June 29. Fireworks at Maple Shade High School at 9:30 p.m. Rain date June 30. 

Medford

• Independence Day celebration in Freedom Park on June 29 from 2 to 10 p.m.

Moorestown

• Fourth of July parade steps off at noon on Chester Avenue and proceeds down Main Street to Church Street. Veterans welcome to march. 

Ocean City

• Kite flying competition at 7 p.m. followed by entertainment. A spectacular fireworks display off 9th Street beach tops off the evening at 9:30 p.m.

Philadelphia

• Independence Day parade through historic Philadelphia from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., fireworks display on Ben Franklin Parkway followed by “The Largest Free Concert in America” featuring the Roots, J. Cole, John Mayer and Grace Potter.

Pitman

• Parade on Broadway at 10 a.m. and fireworks display at Aclyon Park at dusk.

Riverton

• Celebrations begin with a concert in Riverton Park June 30, 6 p.m., featuring the Mark Brown Quartet and the John Byrne Band (free). There is a house decorating contest all day on July 4, plus a 5K (at 8:30 a.m.) and one-mile fun run (at 9:30 a.m.) The 116th Riverton 4th of July Children's Parade starts at 10 a.m. The gathering will sing the national anthem and start a day of park activities at 11:45 a.m. The downhill race starts at 2:30 p.m. Events also include a raft race and pet pageant. 

Sea Isle City

• Sea Isle City's Independence Day Pyrotechnics Display (fireworks) will begin at 9 p.m. at JFK Boulevard and the Beach.

Sesame Place

• Fireworks display will begin shortly after evening performance of “Neighborhood Street party” parade at 9 p.m.

Six Flags

• Special family picnic under the Maple Catering pavilion from noon to 6 p.m. and fireworks display in the evening. Tickets are $47.98 (junior ticket) and $56.98 (adult ticket).

Washington Township (Gloucester County)

• Fireworks display on July 3 at Washington Lake Park at dusk.

Woodbury

• Woodbury's fireworks return after a two-year hiatus. Show on July 5 at the high school stadium. Doors open at 7 p.m. Rain date July 6.

Wildwood

• Wildwood fireworks extravaganza on the beach at Pine Avenue at 10 p.m. Admission is Free to the public.
