Speed Limit Reduced on the Turnpike, Parkway Due to Weather

The speed was reduced on both roads in preparation for a storm that could dump a foot of snow on some areas of the state.

There are weather-related speed restrictions in place on the New Jersey Turnpike and the Garden State Parkway ahead of a pending winter storm, according to the New Jersey Turnpike Authority’s website.

As of 3:05 p.m., the speed limit has been reduced to 35 miles an hour in both directions on the New Jersey Turnpike between the Delaware Memorial Bridge in Pennsville and the George Washington Bridge in Fort Lee.

As of 1:07 p.m., the speed limit has been reduced to 35 miles an hour in both directions on the Garden State Parkway between Southern Terminus/CR 109 in Cape May and New York State Line in Montvale.

A winter storm warning is in effect for the area through 6 a.m. Wednesday, with the possibility of between eight inches and one foot of snow accumulation.
