Viewfinder: Children Re-Enact the Nativity Story

With the help of some farm animals on hand, children from the First Baptist Church of Haddonfield act out the Nativity story for charmed crowds.

The birth of Jesus Christ in a lowly manger was retold in Haddonfield on Friday evening, as children from the acted out the biblical story for crowds packed tightly on the sidewalk.

The cast of children silently acted out the Nativity story as a narrator read Bible passages describing the birth of Jesus.

Both of the performances, held on the church's Kings Highway East lawn, drew so many people that the crowd squeezed in together, jostling for a look at Mary, Joseph, the wise men, angels, shepherds and, of course, the farm animals who shared the manger.

Between performances, Stoney the Party Llama (playing the part of a manger llama) greeted audience members and—literally—chewed up the scenery, nonchalantly munch on hay.

Also between performances, the four bell ringers from the church regaled the crowd with ringing Christmas carols.
