Dance Haddonfield Sponsors Contest for Cash for Haddonfield Nonprofits

The contest runs from February to July and gives away thousands of dollars.

Haddonfield nonprofits now have a chance to show their style and add some money to their budgets.

Could your nonprofit organization use another $100? $250? $500? $1,000? Maybe even $2,000? Here’s an easy way to waltz away with some extra money.

Dance Haddonfield, through the generosity of one of its dancers, is sponsoring a special contest to benefit Haddonfield nonprofits. For six months, from Feb. 1, 2013, until July 31, 2013, they will have a contest with cash prizes given to 10 different Haddonfield nonprofits. The winners will be the ones that have the most people who write down that nonprofit’s name at sign-in when they attend Dance Haddonfield. At the end of the six months, Dance Haddonfield will award the prizes based on the numbers.

So if, on July 31, more people have put your nonprofit’s name down when they sign in, you win $2,000.

Here are the details: Everyone attending Dance Haddonfield each Sunday must sign in for insurance purposes. Beginning Feb. 1 there will be a space for each paid attendee to write in a Haddonfield nonprofit’s name. At the end of the night, they'll be counted. Dance Haddonfield will post results on an ongoing basis on its website during the six-month period (dancehaddonfield.org).  On July 31, 2013, Dance Haddonfield will total up all the numbers to declare winners.

Who is eligible? Any nonprofit based in Haddonfield. The donor has specified this is for Haddonfield.

What are the prizes?

1st - $2,000

2nd - $1,000

3rd - $500

4th & 5th  - $250

6th -10th - $100

How many times can someone vote? Once for each time they pay (including using a gift certificate) to attend the dance. So if a dancer comes every week, he or she can vote 26 times. If someone comes from your nonprofit once to see what the dance is like, they get to vote that night.

What if there is a tie? In the event of a tie, they continue the contest for one more week, but only for those who are tied. While unlikely, if necessary, it would continue until any tie was broken.

How many times can a nonprofit win? Only once, including all affiliates and branches.

Are other nonprofits in the region and nationally eligible? No, this is Haddonfield only.

What does the nonprofit have to do to enter? Absolutely nothing. If enough attendees at the dance write in your name, you win.

Can the nonprofit ask its members and friends to attend and vote for them? Yes, by all means.
