Starring Chris Christie: Gov. Lands Sitcom Part

Christie will guest star on 'The Michael J. Fox Show,' premiering in September.

Gov. Chris Christie is taking his Jersey Strong act to the small screen with a guest-starring role on the upcoming The Michael J. Fox Show, the Huffington Post reports.

The Huffington Post broke the news that Christie will appear as himself on a fall episode of the show, which premieres Sept. 26 on NBC.

Fox’s new show revolves around a news anchor who puts his career on hold after a Parkinson’s disease diagnosis—the same disease Fox was diagnosed with in 1991. In the show, Fox’s character decides to get back into the news game after several years away.

Christie, wearing his famous fleece, tested his acting chops on Saturday Night Live in November 2012 following Superstorm Sandy’s pummeling of New Jersey. While most of his TV credits are for news programs, Internet Movie Database also gives Christie credit for appearing on Cake Boss in 2010 and Wrestlemania 29 in April.
