Local Teen Over the Rainbow for Starring Role in 'The Wizard of Oz'

Courtney Straub is a sophomore at Paul VI High School in Haddon Township.

A local teen won't have to click her heels together three times for a thrill of a lifetime.

For Courtney Straub, 15, a Paul VI High School sophomore, landing the role of Dorothy at the Woodbury Sketch Club Players was already a "dream come true."

"I always dreamed of playing Dorothy," Courtney said. "Performing in such a classic show like the Wizard of Oz in an amazing theatre like the Woodbury Sketch Club Players is truly an honor.  The cast is also amazing and I am so lucky to work with such great actors."

Courtney's mom said she saw this coming long ago.

"She started singing and dancing when she was 4 years old, at school masses and her brother Eric's baseball and hockey games in Gloucester Township," said Patty Straub.

The production recently concluded at the Woodbury Sketch Club Players.
