5 Things You Need to Know This Week

A need-to-know list.

  1. The borough Board of Commissioners are scheduled to meet Tuesday at 7 p.m. for a work session and at 7:30 p.m. for a regular meeting. The pending budget will be among the agenda items. The meeting will be held at the municipal hall.
  2. The first annual Girls Night Out will be held Thursday in the Haddonfield shopping district.  Look for discounts and special prizes from 6 to 9 p.m. “Girls’ Night Out! will kick-off the spring fashion season in Haddonfield with many of the town’s shops and boutiques offering in-store events and refreshments including mini-makeovers, massages, giveaways and 20 percent discounts off merchandise during the event,” according to a news release from Shop Haddonfield. “Admission to ‘Girl’s Night Out’ is free; however participants are encouraged to register at www.shophaddonfieldnj.com and enter to win great prizes.”
  3. The Haddonfield Board of Education is scheduled to meet Thursday at 6 p.m. at the high school library on Kings Highway East. A budget hearing is among the agenda items.
  4. Islam Explained a Community Conversation is scheduled on Thursday from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. at Jersey Java & Tea, 140 N. Haddon Ave. “Informational session and Q&A on Islam and the challenges of religious diversity in South Jersey,” according to a news release.  It’s free and open to the public.
  5. A Bancroft redevelopment plan open house is scheduled for Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the high school library. Redevelopment planners will be on hand to answer questions about the redevelopment of the 18.7-acre site on Kings High Way East. It’s free and open to the public.
