George Washington Lives Again at Indian Head Tavern Today

Reenactors detail the life of the first president.

By George, I think they've got it, the reenactors, that is. Acclaimed George Washington reenactor John Lopes will recount Colonial life from the first president's his point-of-view today from 3 to 4 p.m. at the historic Indian Head Tavern at 233 Kings Highway East in Haddonfield.

The event to honor the "father of our country" will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. today.   The Friends of the Indian Head Tavern invite you to see history through the eyes of those who lived it.

"Visiting the Indian King Tavern is like stepping back in time to the Colonial Era, with its period rooms and historical details," according to a news release. "The Indian King Tavern is the location where the seal of New Jersey was adopted and where New Jersey became a state in 1777. It is now a museum and important part of our state’s history. The Indian King Tavern is a state-owned historic site operated with the assistance of the Friends of the Indian King Tavern."
