Haddonfield Civic Association Dinner Thursday

It's the 101st anniversary of the HCA.

Submitted by Bill Tourtellotte, Haddonfield Civic Association President:

You are all invited to attend the annual Haddonfield Civic Association’s Town Dinner on Thursday 4/26 at Tavistock Country Club. This is one of the top two “feel good” events of the year and not to be missed! It celebrates the Haddonfield community, citizen awareness and involvement, and the residents and students who help to make it special.

This year, Lee Albright will be honored with the prestigious Driscoll Community Service Award for outstanding community service. This is an award to “recognize uncommon effort on behalf of the community with the intention that those who receive it will inspire others, and that it will encourage broader participation in the activities of the Haddonfield community”.

The keynote speaker before Lee’s big award will be Haddonfield’s Howard Gillette, who is a Professor of History with Rutgers-Camden.  His discussion certainly should be timely and interesting in light of the dramatic ongoing controversy surrounding the future of this institution and the regional implications. The HMHS Jazz Band will be providing entertainment and there will be the traditional reading of the two winning Bradshaw Essays. The Kaufmann performing arts award will be announced as well.

Tickets are available online at haddonfieldcivic.com or mail a check for $40 each with Town Dinner written on it to the Haddonfield Civic Association PO Box 323 in Haddonfield. Cocktails are at 6 and dinner is at 7. For further information, contact VP and Dinner Chair Greg Horton at hortonfamily@verizon.net or 856-795-4045.
