It’s one of life’s guarantees. Gravity. The sun rising in the east. Death and taxes. Bulls goring people during the annual run in Pamplona, Spain.
Now a Cherry Hill man has the dubious honor of saying he was among those gored during the annual running of the bulls.
Aryeh Deutsch, 38, a Cherry Hill engineer, told the Associated Press he tripped and fell during the running. And you can guess what came next—the bull gored Deutsch in his right calf.
Deutsch, removed from the run on a stretcher, wasn’t the only casualty, with two British men also feeling the bull’s wrath the same day.
Gorings, and even deaths, mark the annual running of the bulls, which plays out over a week in Pamplona during the festival to celebrate San Fermin, the city's patron saint.
Deutsch’s goring hole measured about an inch deep, according to the AP, and the was first he received in more than 50 runs over the years. Maybe not his last though—Deutsch told the AP he planned to run again on Tuesday.
So we have to ask….
