The Haddonfield attorney will join the board of directors.

The Community Foundation of South Jersey has added John Connell to its board of directors. CFSJ’s mission is to improve the lives of people in the region through permanent philanthropic endowments dedicated to southern New Jersey

Connell is recognized not only for his legal acumen in employment/civil rights defense, constitutional litigation, intellectual property, communications law, and appellate advocacy, but also for his dedication and devotion to charitable organizations.

"I share the foundation’s commitment to harnessing South Jersey’s philanthropic and humanitarian resources in order to improve the quality of life in areas ranging from hunger, health care and the environment to housing, education and the arts," Connell said. "CFSJ plays a vital and growing role in connecting people who want to help with those who need it, while maximizing the impact of philanthropic giving in our region."

Connell lives in Haddonfield with his wife, Colleen, a banking executive at Wells Fargo, and their two youngest children, Brigid and Will.

The Community Foundation of South Jersey is an advisor for philanthropists seeking to create charitable foundation funds to manage individual, family and company giving in Atlantic, Burlington, Cape May, Camden, Cumberland, Gloucester, Ocean and Salem counties.  Since 2009, CFSJ has collectively amassed over $10 million in charitable assets and granted approximately $2.5 million to nonprofits and scholarships of their choosing.
