Grace Church's 'Blue Service' Offers Solace on Longest Night of Year
Church service offers support for those who've lost loved ones.
Grace Church will hold a "Blue Christmas" service 7:30 p.m. tonight, Dec. 21. The recent events in Newtown, CT, are a reminder that Christmas is not a joyful occasion for everyone. Many people will deal with sadness this Christmas because of the loss of a loved one. For that reason, Grace Church offers a special service “Blue Christmas” for those in mourning.
Today is the winter solstice, the longest night of the year, and reflects the darkness that many people wrestle with during the holiday season. The church will use this service as a memorial for those who died in Newtown and other places this past year.
Grace Church is at 19 Kings Highway East, Haddonfield.
