Albert E. Sandecki, Former Owner of a Haddonfield Gallery, Dies at 77

Services will be held on Wednesday, July 10.

Albert E. Sandecki, 77, of Haddonfield, died on Saturday.

Mr. Sandecki  graduated from HMHS in 1953. He studied at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts. With his family, he owned and operated Sanski Art Center since 1954 and taught classes there.

He and his family spent summers in Harborside, ME since 1964. He became involved with the restoration of the Callahan Mine Site and in 2008 received the President’s Volunteer Service Award from the EPA for his efforts. He was the chairman of the Holbrook Island Sanctuary Corp. and helped form the Friends of Holbrook Island Sanctuary, which helps maintain Holbrook Island State Park.

He was the husband of Jean(nee Sherrerd ); father of Katherine Sandecki and  Sarah Jane Betts (David) both of Haddon Township; grandfather of Joshua and Samuel Betts. 

His family will host a gathering of friends on Wednesday, July 10 from 2 to 4 p.m., at Kain-Murphy Funeral Services, 15 West End Ave., Haddonfield. Interment will be private.  Memorial donations may be made in Mr. Sandecki’s name to Samaritan Hospice, 5 Eves Drive, Suite 300, Marlton, NJ 08053.
