Keith Schwab, Haddonfield Soccer Club President, Dies at 45

The viewing is Thursday and funeral services are Friday for Schwab, who shepherded a generation of children through Haddonfield Soccer Club.

The Haddonfield community was stunned and saddened by the untimely death of Keith Schwab on Monday, many said.

Schwab, 45, was the ubiquitous president of the borough soccer club and a presence in a generation of youths and their parents. Tributes quickly began appearing online.

Schwab was a McCabe Scholar and graduate of Swarthmore College in 1990. He was an insurance executive with Breeds Hill Insurance Agency of Boston. Schwab served on the board of the Haddonfield Youth Basketball Association and coached many youth travel teams in a variety of sports.

He is survived by his wife, Leslie E. Donato-Schwab; children Audrey, Sophia, Hudson and Sam; parents, Debbie & Alvin Warfield of Cambridge, MD; siblings Kim (Shane) Palmaras, Katie Warfield, Gregg Warfield (Cathy) and Tim Schwab (Anna); son-in-law of Jean and Louis Donato and brother-in-law of Christina (John) Saler and Justin (Rebecca) Donato.

His family will receive friends on Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. at Christ the King Church, 200 Windsor Ave., Haddonfield, where his funeral Mass will follow on Friday, 10:30 a.m.

Burial will be at Haddonfield Baptist Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, Keith’s family suggests donations in his name to either The Haddonfield Soccer Club, P.O. Box 544, Haddonfield, NJ 08033 (www.HaddonfieldSoccer.org) or to the Haddonfield Educational Trust, P.O. Box 178, Haddonfield, NJ 08033 (www.HaddonfieldEducationalTrust.org).
