Mary Fagan, Candidate for Haddonfield Board of Education

I'd like to announce my candidacy for the Haddonfield Board of Education (BOE). I believe my experience as a 19-year resident of Haddonfield, a parent of two recent K-12 graduates, and a volunteer and successful advocate for educational improvements in all levels of our schools will provide a valuable perspective on the BOE.

I fully appreciate how our district’s excellence underlies Haddonfield's property values. Yet, I also hear from many residents who feel “house poor” because of property taxes, as they juggle the many expenses of raising a family and saving for college and retirement, or live on limited retirement incomes.

Therefore, I will strive, with transparency and independence, to prioritize district spending — making the most of every school tax dollar — on what truly matters for our students’ educational experience, welfare, and career outcomes in the long run.

Above all, please remember to vote on Nov. 5! Apply for your mail-in ballot now if you will be away (the election is during a school break week).
