55th Killing in Camden Comes 2 Days Before Christmas

Camden's homicide total is now its third-highest ever.

A 64-year-old man who was found shot to death in his Morgan Village apartment is Camden’s 55th killing of 2013, Camden County Prosecutor Warren W. Faulk and Camden County Police Chief J. Scott Thomson said.

Dennis Black was found dead in his apartment at Crestbury Apartments off Morgan Boulevard just after 7 p.m. Tuesday, Faulk said.

Black had been shot several times, and died from those gunshot wounds, Faulk said.

His death pushes Camden’s homicide total to its third-highest mark in history, trailing only last year’s record 67 killings and 1995’s 58.
