Another Day, Another Heroic Act for a Haddonfield Cop

Robert Shreve helped revive a landscaper Thursday.

When we last left patrolman Robert Shreve he had just climbed down a storm sewer to who had fallen in.

Shreve, a 17-year veteran of the , said then "That's what makes this job. You just never know what you're going to come across."

That proved true again this week when he came to the rescue of a middle-aged landscaper who was having a cardiac emergency on Thursday.

Shreve was the first responder at 9:50 a.m. Aug. 23 for a call of assistance in the unit block of Euclid Avenue. The patrolman then used an automatic external defibrillator from his patrol car to revive the victim.

The man, whose identity was not available, was taken to a hospital, where he recovered.

Shreve was not immediately available for comment. But his commanding officer Lt. Ted Stussey said it was all in a day's work.
