Police Investigate Possible Attempted Luring in Haddon Township

Authorities are looking for the operator of a white sedan

Haddon Township police have turned to social media for clues about a possible attempted luring incident.

"On Monday, at approximately 4:46 p.m., a 16-year old girl was walking north on Haddon Avenue at French Avenue, when she was approached by a passing white vehicle, possibly a Hyundai Genesis or Azera with a panoramic roof," according to a Haddon Township police Facebook post. "The Hyundai appears to possibly have a spare tire or donut on the rear passenger side.

"The driver is described as a heavy set white male with brown curly hair and a tan complexion, honked as he passed by on Haddon Avenue. The male then turned onto French Avenue and into the Cook’s Liquors Store parking lot. He pulled up within close proximity of the female and asked her if she wanted a ride home. The female ignored the individual and continued on her way. Anyone who can identify this vehicle and/or person of interest is asked to contact the Haddon Township Police Department at (856) 854-0011. Anonymous tips can be called in to (856) 854-1176, Ext. 4TIP (4847).

"We would remind and encourage parents to speak with their children regarding stranger danger and would request residents contact the police immediately regarding incidents of this nature."
