The Coast Guard rescued four people who became trapped on a disabled boat that was taking on water about a half mile south of the Linden Avenue boat ramp on the Delaware River Saturday night.

A Philadelphia Marine Unit contacted Coast Guard Sector Delaware Bay watchstanders in Philadelphia at approximately 9:45 p.m. reporting a disabled boat. The boat had two adults and two children on board.

A crew aboard a 25-foot Response Boat - Small from Coast Guard Station Philadelphia arrived on scene and transferred the four people onto their boat after noticing the 19-foot boat was taking on water.

Two members of the station tried to dewater the boat, but were unsuccessful. The boat was tied off to the Lower Range Light at Mud Island to prevent it from becoming a hazard to navigation.

The four people were transported to the Linden Avenue boat ramp. No medical concerns were reported.
