Camden County Prosecutor Warren Faulk attended the Delaware County Heroin Task Force meeting hosted by Delaware County District Attorney Jack Whelan on Wednesday.

Faulk was among a group of Camden County law enforcement officials who were on hand to discuss methods of combating the impact that heroin is having in region.

Additionally, Camden County Police Chief Scott Thomson was also a group of law enforcement officials who attended a seminar last week to learn about the use of the Heroin antidote, Naloxone.

Whelan and Delaware County Council organized the Delaware County Heroin Task Force in 2012 to raise awareness about the epidemic of prescription drug and heroin abuse impacting the nation and the county.

It has launched several initiatives and formed a broader Heroin Task Force Coalition in response to interest from members of the community. It also launched a website, informational brochure and educational program.

Law enforcement officials in Delaware County also carry Naloxone and established a prescription drug drop box in October.

Heroin has presented a challenge throughout Camden County this year.

In mid-march, the county reported 15 overdoses over the course of two days in Camden, Berlin, Stratford and Gloucester City.

Another 20 overdoses were reported throughout the county two weeks later.
