Haddonfield Police: 10 Burglaries and Thefts in Last 11 Days

Six incidents were reported on Tuesday, including the theft of a safe from a business on Haddon Avenue.

Haddonfield police have reported 10 burglaries or thefts in the last 11 days, including six incidents on Tuesday, June 26.

The most serious incident was reported at 5:26 a.m. Tuesday when a shop owner in the 600 block of Haddon Avenue arrived to find a broken window in the rear of the shop. The caller reported a force entry and the theft of $450 in cash and a safe. The victim said they thought it happened at 11:21 p.m. Monday.

  • A vehicle burglary in the unit block of Warwick Road, reported at 10:11 p.m. A woman said several items were taken from her 1994 Ford Mustang parked outside of her home. The items included a white, leather Coach handbag with a brown, suede strap, a wallet, $160 in cash and a driver's license and Social Security card.
  • A mountain bike was reported stolen from the 400 block of Longwood Drive at 8:01 p.m. It was taken from the driveway overnight and had a value of $500, the victim said.
  • Two metal, framed advertisement signs were reported stolen from a lawn in the 400 block of Kings Highway West at 12:57 p.m.
  • A wooden bench was reported stolen from the front porch of a home in the 200 block of Kings Highway East at 10:35 a.m. The three-person seat was valued at $300.

A 42-year-old Camden man was arrested and charged with burglary and theft for reportedly taking a bike from a garage in the 100 block of Windsor Ave. on June 21.

The victim called police at 11:14 p.m. to report a man had fled with his bike and was last seen going down Hopkins Avenue near Haddon Avenue. At 12:14 a.m. PATCO light rail line police detained a suspect, later identified as Duane Russell Moore of N. 3rd St. in Camden.

The victim was taken to Ferry Avenue station by Haddonfield police to identify Moore. Moore was taken to Camden County Jail afterward.

A wallet and a camera were reported taken from a car in the 100 block of Allen Ave. on June 24. The victim believes it occurred between 1:30 and 6:45 p.m.

An auto registration card and $30 were reported stolen from a vehicle in the 300 block of Longwood Drive on June 18 at 4:43 p.m. The vehicle was unlocked.

A copper, weather vane was stolen from the front lawn of a home in the 200 block of Ardmore Ave. on June 18 at 3:19 p.m.

A victim in the 300 block of Hawthorne Ave. reported their vehicle was broken into overnight. The incident was reported at 3:13 p.m. on June 18
