Haddonfield Police: 7 Street Signs and 5 Bikes Stolen This Month

Commissioners express concern about street sign theft. "People need to know what's happening," the mayor says.

Street signs were reported missing along Redman Avenue on June 13 and then four were reported missing along North Haddon Avenue on June 18.

Last August, 11 street signs were reported stolen in a similar incident. Haddonfield has been a frequent target of metal thieves over the last 18 months. Several dozen thefts of copper downspouts have been reported over that time.

Police have not reported any motive for the sign thefts, but the borough commissioners are concerned.

"We should put this in the paper," Mayor Tish Colombi, one of three borough commissioners said this week. "It's costly to replace these signs. People need to know what's happening."
