Haddonfield Police Blotter: Two Arrests in Two Months for a Local Man

An alleged car burglary is the latest offense for a borough man.

Borough police arrested and charged two men on Thursday, May 12 with the theft of a leather jacket from a car parked at the Washington Avenue Apartments. One of the two suspects had previously been arrested for a drug offense last month.

John Perry Nisivoccia, 23, of the 100 block of Lincoln Avenue, was collared last Thursday on South Atlantic Avenue with another borough man after the victim pointed them out to police.

Nisivoccia was arrested on April 2 after police responded to a report of an “overdose” at his residence on Lincoln Avenue. He was released with a summons to appear in municipal court after being treated in a hospital.

Last Thursday, Nisivocca was arrested with John Matthew Powers, 35, also of Lincoln Avenue, shortly before midnight. Both were charged in the theft, even though only Powers was allegedly seen rummaging through the victim’s car before making off with the jacket, the police report said.

Powers was described as a “short, white male, with a shaved head and a gray T-shirt." Police searched nearby for suspects that fit the description and cornered Powers and Nisvocca until the victim identified Powers. The jacket was found nearby on the ground. It was valued at $600.
