Firstly, wouldn't you maybe start locking your windows after the FIRST burglary? Secondly, people actually report stolen pumpkins? Oh, Haddonfield.

So now we blame the home owner because there's a 2nd burglary ? And why shouldn't we report stolen pumpkins ? I wonder if the reason Haddonfield fell far out of 1st place in a recent survey of best places to live is because of all the burglaries in the past year ? G.S.

I'm sure the increase in burglaries is not because the economy is doing so well over the past 4 years......criminals have to buy food and drugs too!

When the burglars come in through the same UNLOCKED window twice, yes, the onus is on the homeowner at that point. And maybe if people stopped reporting stolen pumpkins, the "crime rate" wouldn't be increasing statistically in Haddonfield.

We should report EVERY theft! No matter how small. It alerts everyone on the block to be more watchful! The fact of the matter is that someone came on my property and took something that did not belong to them! Even if they were JUST pumpkins!
