Haddonfield Police: January Blotter

Burglaries on the rise.

  • Jan. 21: A resident in the 600 block of Washington Ave. reported an attempted break-in to her home had occurred overnight. Someone had tried to enter through a rear window. They did not get in and nothing was reported missing.
  • Jan. 21: James Carr, 23, of Gill Road in Haddonfield was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated after a one-car crash at Kings Highway and Chestnut St. at 1:40 a.m. His blood-alcohol level was .19 percent. He was processed and released in the custody of another.
  • Jan. 20: Police responded to a home alarm in the 400 block of Merion Ave. at 8:35 p.m. and discovered a rear window had been removed. A 36-inch Samsung HDTV was reported missing.
  • Jan. 20: A burglary in the 200 block of Chews Landing Rd. was reported at 9:04 a.m. The resident believed it had occurred two days earlier. An estimated total of $4,250 in items was reported missing, including a desktop computer, a Nikon digital camera, three bottles of liquor and a wooden box.
  •  Jan. 16: A bike was reported missing in a burglary inthe 300 block of Kings Highway West. The Cypress brand green mountain bike was taken from a garage. The bike was locked to another bike in the garage, the resident said.
  • Jan. 6: A snowblower and a generator was stolen from a garage in the 100 block of Kings Highway West. The 5.5 horsepower snowblower and Craftsman power generator were valued at $1,500.
  • Jan 6: Several lawn machines were stolen from a shed at Haddonfield Memorial High School. The machines were valued at $5,225 and included leaf blower, aerator, seeder and lawnmower. Police said bolt cutters were used in the burglary.
