Haddonfield Police: Mischief Includes a Firebug

Arsonist and a seemingly apolitical nuisance may be on the loose.

Haddonfield police reported three incidents of arson over the last two weeks, including an Obama/Biden political sign on a front lawn. But the political shenanigans continued two days later when six lawn signs, including a Romney/Ryan sign, were reported missing from another street.

Here are the details:

Oct. 13, 100 block of Hopkins Ave., at 10:10 a.m. a resident reported an Obama/Biden sign on their front lawn had been burned over night.

Oct. 15, 100 block of Colonial Ridge Drive, a half-dozen signs, including a Romney/Ryan political sign, were reported missing from front lawns.

Oct. 20, unit block of Elm, 8:26 p.m., a fire reported in the roadway. Officer arrived to find a bottle with a flammable liquid in it with a piece of cloth smoldering on the side of the road.

Oct. 20., unit block of West End Ave., 8:31 p.m., a resident reported a fire in the middle of the street. An officer arrived to find a bottle with a flammable liquid inside with a piece of burning cloths stuck inside. There was no report of property damage or injuries.
