Haddonfield Police: Parking Lot Road Rage

Police Blotter: The crimes and incidents as they are reported.

The weekend Crafts and Arts Festival seemed to produce positive vibes for just about everyone, except an allegedly irate motorist in the Acme Parking lot on Ellis Street.

Many locals famously say they leave town to avoid the crowds when the massive, annual, two-day crafts festival rolls in.  But the Acme, which is just a few paces off the Kings Highway main drag, was the scene of a few tense moments Saturday, July 9 over a parking space.

Witnesses reported two drivers screaming at one another in the Acme parking lot over a parking space just after 1 p.m.  Officers investigated but were unable to locate anyone involved. At 6:30 that evening, one of the parties involved in the incident contacted police to report that a man driving a silver Volvo had yelled at her because he believed she was parking at the supermarket to attend the crafts festival. She and her husband were actually shopping for groceries. The caller wanted to report the incident so that it would be on record but requested to retain her anonymity.
