Haddonfield Police: The Blotter

The crimes as they are reported.

Shoplifting

At 5:16 p.m. on Aug. 23, a business in the 200 block of Kings Highway reported a customer attempting to steal four cartons of cigarettes valued at $288.72. Once the man realized he was being watched, he left through the rear exit without making a purchase and without any merchandise, according to the complaint. Police could not find him.

The man is described as a black male, 35-40 years old. He was last seen wearing a Nike cap, a gray shirt, baggy gray cargo shorts, and white sneakers. A store video of the incident was logged as evidence.

Theft

At 2:16 p.m. on Aug. 23, the owner of a business in the 400 block of Haddon Avenue reported that a number of night bank deposits have gone missing since late May. The business owner identified a specific employee as the principal suspect. This employee was responsible for making deposits of $202, $437 and $173, on May 6, 27, and 28, respectively. The employee did not return to work after May 28, nor did she tender her resignation. Police are investigating the matter.

Criminal Mischief

Sometime during the evening of Aug. 22, someone broke an advertising sign on the front lawn of a home in the 300 block of Washington Avenue. A similar incident occurred in the 400 block of Washington Avenue. Each sign is valued at $175.
