Haddonfield Police: Wild Weekend with 9 Incidents in 34 Hours

Police respond to five auto burglaries reported on the same day and a sixth the day before.

had their hands full last weekend with nine incidents, including six car burglaries, two acts of vandalism and a DWI arrest in a 34-hour period.

Seven of the incidents were reported on Sunday, Aug. 26, one the day before and one the day after.

  • On Aug. 27, a Beechwood Avenue resident told police he found a "no outlet" street sign and the metal post it was on that had been reported stolen last week.

On Aug. 26, these incidents were reported:

  • 100 block of Warwick Road, unlocked car entered overnight
  • 200 block of Moore Lane, unlocked car entered overnight
  • 200 block of Moore Lane, unlocked car entered overnight
  • 300 block of Atlantic Ave., a leather wallet with a driver's license and debit card was reported stolen
  • 200 block of Warwick Road, lamp post vandalized
  • 300 block of Washington Ave., lamp post vandalized
  • Unit block of Grove St., Earl Knight, 25, of East Park Ave., Haddonfield, arrested for driving while intoxicated after allegedly crashing into a tree at 3:07 a.m. Knight was also charged with careless driving, driving with a suspended license and failure to have an insurance card.

  • 200 S. Atlantic Ave. East, a caller reported finding a male in his late teens sitting in the front passenger seat of his car with the door closed at 11:52 p.m. The suspect fled toward Lincoln Avenue and was last seen wearing a red T-shirt, tan cargo shorts and a black backpack. Nothing was missing from the car.
