Haddonfield Toy Store Robbery Suspects Caught

Haddonfield Police on Monday announced the arrest of two suspects wanted for an of the Happy Hippo toy store Friday evening. The weapon was allegedly a modified BB-gun made to look like a real pistol, police said.

Carlos Cintron Jr. and Jennifer Ciarrocchi, both of Pennsauken were arrested in Camden Saturday morning after being pursued by Cherry Hill police. The couple allegedly fled after an armed robbery of a convenience store on Maple Avenue in Cherry Hill shortly after 11 a.m., Cherry Hill police said.

Cintron was charged with robbery and possession of a firearm for unlawful purposes. Ciarrocchi was charged with robbery and conspiracy. Both were taken to the Camden County jail in lieu of $100,000 cash bail each.

Police said Cintron entered the toy store at the corner of Kings Highway and Haddon Avenue at 8:58 p.m. on Friday as the store was closing and left with $150 cash. There were no injuries reported. The store owner, Scott Boren was the only person in the store at the time of the robbery.

The store is a half-block from the . Police said they were there one minute after the robbery was reported. It was not immediately reported what role Ciarrocchi is alleged to have played in the robbery.

The couple told police they were homeless and robbed the stores for money, according to Det. Sgt. Mark Knoedler of Haddonfield. Cherry Hill police helped with the Happy Hippo robbery investigation and had descriptions of the suspects that helped the investigation in their town, Knoedler said.
